Safe operation of High Voltage Electricity systems underpins the reliability of our electricity supply and the safety of the public and utility personnel. Devbase were engaged to undertake the development of an Electricity Networks Safety Management System (ENSMS) for a proposed transmission service provider establishing a 500kV Renewable Energy Zone in New South Wales
The Solution
This work included the development of a business systems framework, to map the interactions between the ENSMS and other critical systems (Risk, Asset Management, Compliance, Environmental and WH&S, etc). It also included the development of the key safety risks associated with the assets, aligned to the Australian Standard AS 5577 – 2013 Electricity Network Safety Management Systems requirements. Devbase also completed a detailed risk assessment with cross-lifecycle representatives, in alignment with the Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 Risk management – Principles and guidelines was also completed. The risk assessment was also completed, leveraging the clients' organisational risk management framework.
