Our client, a state-owned utility, is undergoing transformative changes in the scale up of it's Grid Connection Project Development business. Devbase were approached to provide deep experience and support in leadership and management of Grid Connection projects on behalf of the client
The Solution
Our experienced consultants were engaged on secondment with our client to perform the role of Connection Development manager . Devbase supplied a hybrid team of three professional resources on a 24 month engagement to support a portfolio of network connection projects.
Devbase embedded an Project Development Lead in the client office to establish key internal relationships with Portfolio, Network Property, Engineering, Network Planning and Infrastructure Development project teams. Our lead consultant facilitated the management of work out to the remote team of expert consultants located interstate. This arrangement enabled the client access to deeper experience in Grid Connection Development Projects than what was available on the local market.
Our consultants managed the interface with proponents lodging Grid Connection applications under Chapter 5 of the National Electricity Rules. Our consultants brought sector techical and commercial experience in facilitating technical and commercial solutions within the Chapter 5 framework. This extends to
- Processing Grid Connection Applications
- Early Customer engagement on Technical Options and advice on the Chapter 5 NER process
- Managing Grid Customer meetings between Network Owner and Developers
- Coordinating Generator Performance Standards studies with Network Planning Engineers
- Coordinating all project commercial and technical correspondence and project reporting
- Coordinating the development of commercial agreements for construction / grid connection access
- Account Management support for new client Connection Agreements post construction
